The same year the men of Novgorod were plundered by the Varangians in Gothland (Sweden) and by the Nemtsy (Germans - probably Swedes) in Khoruzhk and in Novi-torg, and in the spring they let no man of their own go beyond sea from Novgorod, and gave no envoy to the Varangians, but they sent them away without peace.
